Bosque Alegre Wildlife Refuge

The Bosque Alegre wildlife refuge of Costa Rica protects the primary and secondary tropical rainforests and wetlands surrounding three small crater lakes, Bosque Alegre, Hule, and Congo. An ecological committee currently produces medicinal plants for use in shampoos and herbal teas, which has the added benefit of cultivating and supporting the butterfly population and diversity in the area.

Canopy

“Los Trapiches” Sugar mill.

The Trapiche (sugar mill) is one of the most representative elements in the agricultural history of the sugar cane growers of the country.  It is a memory of a period when the steam technology still was not used for making the process of sugar cane more efficient.

Zooave 

This zoo-nursery center host an amazing number of bird species native to Costa Rica, as well as a good variety of other animals. The place is a non-profit organization that has the following three goals:
• Environmental Education.
• Costa Rican Wildlife Rescue.
• Care of Endangered Species.

Arenal Volcano

The Arenal Volcano is an active volcano in northwestern Costa Rica, around 90 km northwest of San José and about 3.5 hours drive from ACCE.  It is located in La Fortuna. The country's most active volcano. Minor eruptions are reported every 5-10 minutes. The volcano heats several hot springs nearby including the one we will visit during the tour.

Sarchí handicraft shopping tour

Sarchi town is world wide famous for its handcraft works. Everything in Sarchi is typically painted.  Tourists buy the oxcarts every day and the stores ship them to the recipient upon request.  The tour to Sarchi can be done in the morning or in the afternoon. We will start with a wonderful drive through some of Costa Rica's largest coffee and sugar plantations.

Bungee jumping

Tropical Bungee offers bungee jumping since 1991. Topiary trees in Zarcero

An agricultural town famous for its topiary garden in front of the town’s church, organic vegetables, dairy farms and homemade cheese.  The topiary garden is famous for the variety of shapes the gardener gives to the trees, you can see shapes of elephants, birds, rabbits, oxen or a monkey.

“Manuel Antonio” National Park

One of the most beautiful beaches, spots & destinations of Costa Rica. Added to this an incredible indoor butterfly garden where you can see how the staff take care of the butterflies and help in the reproduction cycle of these beautiful creatures.  There is also a typical Costa Rican house where you will be able to try some Typical treats, fresh cheese produced on site and a cup of great coffee or “agua dulce”.
